ABOUT ON POINT BI

We Build the Platforms That Make Governed, AI-Ready Analytics Possible

A founder-led company with two proprietary platforms — built by people who spent decades solving the problems the platforms address.

On Point BI is an AI-first information services company that builds and operates proprietary platforms for regulated enterprises. Insight Ready Platform™ (IDPaaS) delivers a fully managed, governed analytics foundation inside the client’s Azure tenant. Semantic Drift Intelligence™ (SDI) continuously detects, governs, and prevents semantic drift across SQL, BI, documentation, and AI systems. Both platforms were built by a founding team with deep, complementary expertise — and both reflect the specific problems that team spent years watching organizations fail to solve with tools alone.

THE TEAM

Built by People Who Lived the Problem

On Point BI was built by two people with distinct and complementary backgrounds — one from the data architecture and enterprise strategy side, one from the data science and machine learning side. The platforms reflect both perspectives. IDPaaS carries Darrin’s architecture and governance thinking. SDI carries Julia’s data science depth and her early recognition that semantic instability was the foundational problem underneath every data and AI initiative.

Darrin Turner

FOUNDER AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE

Darrin spent years doing the hard work of enterprise data before most organizations knew what to call it — building data warehouses, leading analytics transformations, and managing BI functions across healthcare, life sciences, financial services, and global technology organizations. Gentiva, Friday Health Plans, Cherry Creek Mortgage, CSL Plasma, Agilent Technologies, Prometheus Laboratories — regulated, complex, high-stakes environments where the cost of bad data is measured in real operational and clinical consequences.

That depth is what he brought to On Point BI. He was the one who kept seeing the same structural failure across every organization he worked in — not a tools problem, but a foundation problem. Governed pipelines that did not exist. Semantic alignment that nobody owned. Analytics programs that could not produce a single trusted metric. He built On Point BI because he had seen the problem enough times to know exactly what solving it permanently required.

His background in regulated, enterprise-scale data environments — where governance, auditability, and definitional consistency are operational requirements, not aspirational goals — is the foundation on which Insight Ready Platform™ was built.

Julia Turner

CO-FOUNDER AND CHIEF DATA SCIENTIST

Julia spent twenty years doing the hard work of data science before most companies were calling it that — building pipelines, developing statistical models, and working with complex biological and genomic datasets at institutions including the Genomic Institute of the Novartis Foundation, La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology, and The Scripps Research Institute.

That depth is what she brought to On Point BI. She was the one who pushed the company away from traditional consulting and toward a productized, AI-first model built on governed data and semantic drift intelligence — a shift that defined On Point BI’s trajectory. She architects the machine learning intelligence behind the platforms, and the parts of On Point BI that are genuinely innovative exist because of her work. Her influence shaped not just what the company builds, but how it thinks.

Her background in biological and genomic data — environments where definition consistency, lineage traceability, and semantic precision are not governance preferences but scientific requirements — is the foundation on which Semantic Drift Intelligence™ was built.

“She saw where we needed to go before I did. The parts of On Point BI that feel genuinely innovative — not just well-positioned — exist because of her work.”

OUR PLATFORMS

Two Platforms. One Governed Analytics and Semantic Foundation.

On Point BI delivers its capabilities through two proprietary platforms and a supporting modernization service. The platforms are independent products with distinct value propositions — and a natural relationship. IDPaaS builds the governed analytics foundation. SDI governs the meaning that runs through it.

MANAGED ANALYTICS PLATFORM

Insight Ready Platform™

A fully managed, all-inclusive analytics platform delivered inside the client’s Azure tenant. IDPaaS replaces the internal data engineering team, platform management overhead, and analytics build program with a single monthly subscription — delivering governed pipelines, a semantic layer, Power BI dashboards, and continuous AI capabilities. Production-ready in 6 to 8 weeks. Built for regulated industries from the start.

SEMANTIC GOVERNANCE PLATFORM

Semantic Drift Intelligence™

The control plane for meaning across SQL, BI, documentation, and AI systems. SDI continuously detects, explains, and governs how business definitions change across every system that uses data — giving organizations the semantic stability required for trusted analytics and safe AI adoption. Deployed inside the client’s Azure tenant. No raw data leaves the client environment.

IDPaaS clients receive a $60,000 credit toward the SDI implementation fee.

Organizations subscribed to Insight Ready Platform™ can add Semantic Drift Intelligence™ with a $60,000 credit applied toward the $120,000 implementation fee — distributed across the first year of the SDI subscription. A recognition of your commitment to governed analytics and On Point BI’s commitment to the partnership.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Four Convictions That Shape Every Platform Decision

On Point BI’s platforms are not neutral tools. They reflect a specific set of convictions about what enterprise data and AI systems require to be trustworthy, scalable, and defensible over time. These convictions are visible in every architectural decision — from the Bronze-to-Silver-to-Gold pipeline structure in IDPaaS to the sequenced maturity model in SDI.

Governance is architecture, not audit

Governance that is bolted on after delivery is not governance — it is documentation of what already happened. Both IDPaaS and SDI treat governance as a foundational architectural principle. The audit trails, semantic registry, lineage capture, and compliance workflows are built into the platform structure, not added as features on top of it.

Meaning is as important as data

An organization can have perfect data pipelines and still produce conflicting reports if the business definitions encoded in SQL and BI logic diverge from what documentation says they should be. Semantic stability — a consistent, governed understanding of what data means across every system that uses it — is a prerequisite for trusted analytics and safe AI. Julia’s background in genomics and biological data, where definitional precision is a scientific requirement, shaped this conviction directly.

Platforms outlast projects

A consulting engagement delivers a solution and leaves. A platform delivers a solution and continues to operate, monitor, govern, and evolve it. On Point BI builds platforms because the problems regulated enterprises face — ungoverned analytics, semantic drift, AI readiness — are permanent operational challenges, not one-time projects.

Your data stays in your environment

Both IDPaaS and SDI are deployed inside the client’s Azure tenant. On Point BI manages the governance and analytics layer through purpose-built control planes — but the client’s data never leaves their environment. This is not a security feature. It is an architectural commitment to data residency, regulatory compliance, and organizational sovereignty over sensitive data.

INDUSTRIES WE SERVE

Deep Experience Across Data-Intensive Industries

On Point BI’s platforms are purpose-built for regulated enterprises, but the underlying data and governance problems they solve appear across every industry where data is operationally critical and the cost of semantic instability is high.

Healthcare

Clinical, operational, and financial analytics in HIPAA-aligned environments — connecting EHR, claims, and operational data into a governed, auditable foundation for clinical and operational decision-making.

Life Sciences and Pharma

R&D, clinical, regulatory, and commercial analytics for organizations operating under GxP, FDA, and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements — where data definition traceability is a compliance requirement, not a governance preference.

Financial Services

Risk, compliance, and performance analytics for financial and mortgage organizations — governed pipelines and semantic stability aligned to SOC, Basel, and equivalent regulatory frameworks.

Additional Industries

On Point BI has supported data modernization, analytics, and AI programs across retail, manufacturing, and other data-intensive sectors. The platform architecture and governance approach transfer across industries wherever consistent, trusted data is operationally critical.
